I have arrived in Alaska with Paul Benoit, Oli Klomp! We have been set up at the Tides Inn in Petersburg. Kito's Kave is the place we are playing.  There. I said it. We rode around in a Cessna (41 Yankee) above the glacier. It was incredible.  Tonight we have the day off, after pounding away for three to four hours a day...Sigh.

It has been a pleasure, thus far, to manage the rock band camps at the Seattle Drum School with my friend, and co-worker, Nick Auckland. The kids have been fantastic and patient with my ranting and occasional expletives.

A benefit for the families of the brutal, senseless murders at the Cafe Racer is  on Sunday, the 8th of July. All proceeds benefit those remaining. Come out, show your support for nonviolence and peace. Here is a link to the invitation, including the location.
I have been lazy lately. My updating leaves much to be desired:
Directly after the benefit, I swing (7/6) over to the Shipwreck tavern (Admiral junction in West Seattle) for another raging BMF set of improv starting at 9pm. I return to the Shipwreck the next evening (7/7) to play with Eric Apoe and They. Start time 9pm C

On Wednesday I am playing with Margaux Lesourd and her LITTLE ploy at the Rendevous / Jewelbox Theater in Belltown. Great stuff...very soulful and funky. The doors open at 10pm. See you there!

After a ride on the Moisture Festival wagon, my schedule has returned to normal...well...sorta.
Sunday night I am back at it with a new mystery group at the Shipwreck tavern in West Seattle, and Monday with Eric Apoe and They (also at the Shipwreck). Both shows are free and start at 9pm!

Upcoming: The Supersones for Cinco de Mayo, and a tour to Alaska in September with Paul Benoit.
Cheers!

This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday I am playing again in the 9th annual Moisture Festival! A wonderful display of comedy, variete, burlesque, and music! 7:30 and 10:30 pm at the Broadway Performance Hall next door to Seattle Central Community College.
The Sunday show is a comedy/family night and starts at 3pm.

On Sunday Night I am at the Shipwreck with BMF, a funky explosion of improvised music with horns, keys, guitar, drums, and Bass (that's me). FREE! 9pm

Hope to see all of you there!
Thanks

I am debating which of the names to use for the project that I forgot to mention to you, my most loyal readers. We played the music of Horace Silver at Egan's Jam House the night before last and tore the whatchamacallit off. Thank you to all involved in making the evening memorable: Dave Marriott, Art Brown, Scott Morning, Ron Weinstein, and Steve Fourni
